Year 6 WWII Poetry

Date: 22nd Sep 2020 @ 2:25pm

Over the last 2 weeks, the children in Year 6 have been generating ideas and developing structures for some poetry. Because we are studying WWII in our history lessons, we decided to link our poems to this.

The children came up with some magnificant descriptions, for example 'Spitfires snigger as they dart through the smog-filled air on target to destroy the enemy,' and 'Tears meandered down the mother's cheek as she waved goodbye to her beloved children.'

I have been really impressed with the children's ideas and overall writing since their return. Keep up the wonderful work Y6.
