Welcome back, Year 6!
I hope you’ve all had a festive holiday that was exciting and relaxing in equal measure. It’s wonderful to have you back and ready for a new term. We have lots to look forward to, plenty to work on, and some exciting plans ahead.
In science, we will be focusing on light. You’ll be investigating how light travels, how we see, how shadows are formed, and how reflection and refraction work through practical experiments and investigations. In design and technology, our topic will be food and nutrition. You’ll be learning about healthy, balanced diets, where food comes from, and how to prepare and design simple dishes safely and thoughtfully. In history, we will be studying the Windrush generation. You’ll explore who the Windrush migrants were, why they came to Britain, the challenges they faced, and the important contributions they made to British society.
This term will require focus, resilience, and hard work, but there is so much to enjoy and achieve. I know you’re ready to rise to the challenge—let’s make it a fantastic term together!
