Safeguarding
At Wardley CE Primary School we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We seek to provide a safe and secure environment for our children, staff and visitors, whilst promoting a climate where children and adults will feel confident about sharing any concerns which they may have about their own safety or the well-being of others.
We aim to safeguard and promote the welfare of children by protecting them from maltreatment; preventing impairment of children’s health or development; ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care; and taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes.
We have a number of detailed policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our Child Protection Policy. This policy sets out how the school discharges its statutory responsibilities relating to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children who are pupils at our schools. An overview of the school’s procedures can be seen below. Other policies and procedures may be viewed by contacting the school.
Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child's welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with his/her parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child's welfare.
Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is Mr M. Foster (Headteacher)
Our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) is Mrs K. Walker (Deputy Headteacher).
Our additional Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) is Mrs K. Flanagan (SENDCO)
