Welcome back
Welcome back! I hope you have had a great break, and that you are refreshed and ready for the challenges of the new term in Year 5. Can you believe we are already half way through our year together?
We have so much to look forward to this half term. Have a look at the homework project and our curriculum newsletter for more information on what we will cover.
Our History unit will see us comparing the Ancient Maya civilisation with what was happening in Britain at that time.
In Geography, we will use maps, atlases, globes and digital/computer mapping to locate countries and describe features studied, and use the eight points of a compass, four and six-figure grid references, symbols and key (including the use of Ordnance Survey maps) to build our knowledge of the United Kingdom and the wider world.
In science, we will look at Earth in space including all the forces at play. This will be supported by our educational visit to Jodrell Bank.
Returning to school after a break can be stressful for some. We have our well-being day on our first day back to ease you in. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, there are lots of people you can speak to.
