Year 6 European Languages Day 2023

Date: 26th Sep 2023 @ 4:13pm

As today is European Languages Day, pupils in Y6 spent the morning focusing on their curriculum language, French.

Pupils learnt about the French culture and about some of its history - they particularly enjoyed learning about the French revolution, the execution of Louis XVI and the rise of Napoleon!

They also listened to the French National Anthem - La Marseillaise - before creating their own French flags - The Tricolour - and writing information about themselves on the back.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable session, made even better by the chocolate brioche enjoyed at breaktime.

Well done to those children who did some research at home and came in with some fun French facts to share with the class....our favourite fact...the French have over 365 variations of cheese meaning that they can enjoy a different cheese every day of the year!

Tres bien Year 6, c'est magnifique!
