Monday 4th May 2020

Good morning Year 6 and welcome to another week in lock down. You’re all doing really well and we have been super pleased with the quality of the work that has already been uploaded to the School Spider.

Remember, the tasks set are there as guidance. If you can complete everything, excellent, but if for any reason you cannot get through it all, don’t worry, just do what you can. It is important that we all keep calm and safe throughout this unusual time.

Monday’s tasks are as follows:

  1. Mathletics tasks - you know how to access these
  2. Spellodrome tasks - same as above - this week's words are illegal, illiterate, illuminate, replace, replaceable, recycle, returned, immediate, immune, immature, impossible, desperate, desperately, desperation, illegible, illustration
  3. 5 A Day – complete Monday’s calculations (set in the homework folder)
  4. Maths No Problem – for those of you who are accessing it, this week’s unit is Unit 8 – Ratio. Today’s lesson is Lesson 1: Comparing Quantities.
  5. Weekly Craft Task – set in the homework folder
  6. Writing – Finish off any writing tasks from last week, new ones will be set tomorrow.
  7. Discussion – please read and add a comment to the weekly discussion page set in the Discussion folder on School Spider.
  8. Reading – I would like you research the history of VE Day in preparation for your writing tasks this week. I have attached a couple of Powerpoints to this blog for you to read. CBBC Newsround has a great page entitled, What is VE Day? which would be useful for you to read too.

You can also access lots of great tasks and games on BBC Bitesize. You can also watch Bitesize on the TV through BBC i player.

Have a great Monday and if I haven’t spoken to you yet, I will do my best to get through to you this week.
