Hello Team

This week is hedgehog awareness week smiley During this week people learn lots about, and try to help our spiky friends who are coming out of hibernation. The reason why this is so important is because the numbers of hedgehogs are declining (going down). If you’d like to find out some top tips on how you can help these adorable animals (from hedgehog ladders to holes in the fence), please click on the link below.

If you decide to do this and you get some hedgehog visitors, please let me know. Once I can move into my new house, I’d love to make my garden hedgehog friendly heart

Shout Outs

Spellodrome

Phoebe and Daisy yes

Well done for learning your spellings girls.

Mathletics

Suraya and Charlie Storey yes

Excellent effort with completing your tasks.

Parents/Carers

The range of activities below are ideas which your child can be getting on with throughout the week. Please pick and choose what best suits the needs and time of your family. You do not need to do everything.

Furthermore, please don’t feel you can’t set your child off on a task and leave them to it. This is actually an important skill as it develops independent learning. In class I have a sigh on the wall which says:

3 Before Me

(If the children ask me a question I’ll reply, ‘Have you done three before me?’)

  1. Use your brain (have a good think)
  2. Use a resource (a book, number square etc)
  3. Ask your buddy (they could ask someone at home)

If they haven’t been able to figure out the answer after trying these three strategies, they can then ask me.

Also, there work doesn’t have to be perfect.
