In Science, we have been learning about what to do if we were stuck on a desert island. We discussed which tasks we needed to do and then prioritised them. We decided the first task should be to make a shelter. Grace said it would protect us from the sun, wind and rain. Harry explained that it would also keep us safe and protect us from animals.

We worked in pairs to create a shelter from a variety of different materials. The shelter was for a Lego person called Joe. We decided the shelter must be strong, windproof and waterproof. After we built our shelters, we tested them. We used a hairdryer to check the shelter was windproof. Poured some water on the shelter to test if it was waterproof and put a large heavy stone on top of the shelter to test if it was strong.

We worked really well together and thoroughly enjoyed making and then testing our shelters!
