Reading in Year 3

World Book Day – Thursday 5th March 2020

Today was World Book Day and the classroom has been full of characters from the children’s favourite reads.

The costumes were fantastic! We had Harry Potters, Hermione Granger, Violet Beauregarde, Dennis the Menace, an Oompa Loompa, Wenda (who kept disappearing), some frightening dinosaurs and a host of other colourful characters.

Through the day we created some amazing book marks, read our favourite books and enjoyed a few other book-based activities to celebrate this great event and promote the children’s love of books and reading.

Thank you to all the parents and carers for all your hard work at home.

The children had a great day and, personally, I really liked my pirate costume and think I’ll be wearing it on my Saturday night out.

Happy reading everyone.
