Ambition Day Year 5

Date: 6th Nov 2020 @ 3:14pm

Today we celebrated Ambition Day by coming into school dressed up as the person we would like to be when we are older.

We spent the afternoon discussing the work they had completed at home, the skills required for their chosen roles, why it needs to be right for us as individuals and why the career appealed to us so much.  It was great to see the range of careers the children in Year 5 want to pursue - game developers, gymnastic teachers, artists, vets, history teachers, dance instructors, toy store owners, entrepreneurs and business gurus, roofers, builders, authors, surgeons, nurses, hairdressers, footballers, police detectives, sewing machinists and space biologists.

It was great to hear the children talk openly, honestly and passionately about their ideal career.

Thank you for all the time and effort that you and the children have put in.  It has raised awareness and aspirations, and made us think that with a little bit of luck, determination and perseverance, ‘we can do all things’.
