28.01.22 COLLECTIVE WORSHIP - INCLUDING OTHERS

Date: 28th Jan 2022 @ 3:56pm

Over this half-term we are looking at the Christian value of justice. In our collective worship this week we listened to the Bible story about Bartemieus and thought about how we can help other people to feel more included. The children, as always, had some fantastic ideas:

‘We can help people to feel more included by letting them join in our games on the playground if they are on their own.’ Courtney Y2.

‘We can let people join in our games. For example, if someone was sitting on the bench and other people were playing you could ask them to join in.’’ Ralph Y3.

‘You can make people feel included by letting them join in with what you are doing or introduce them to your friends.’ Hannah Y5.

‘There are many ways to include others, such as calming their anxiety by saying something kind to brighten their day, or even inviting them to talk with you.’ Grace Y6.

The Y4 children wrote the words for our prayer this week:

Dear Lord,

Thank you for teaching us how to be just and treat people fairly.

Please help us to ensure that no one is left out and to stand up for others who are being bullied.

Thank you for the people who help others who are being treated unjustly.

Please help us no make the world a better place by supporting charities and organisations that help the world and others.

Amen

I am sure that you will agree that the children have done fantastically well in expressing their thoughts about this value. It is also lovely to see the way that they translate their ideas into actions and the way that they treat each other in school throughout each day.
