Year 2's Visit to The Lowry

Date: 12th Feb 2020 @ 4:22pm

Year 2 went to the Lowry Art Gallery, in Salford Quays, to learn about L.S.Lowry and to practise how to draw pictures like Lowry did, all those many years ago.  We found out some information about Lowry's life and did some drawing and painting, like Lowry, whilst we were there.  We met an artist, called Michelle, who taught us how to draw a row of terraced houses using different techniques, such as perspective, cross hatching, shading, smudging and drawing with rubbers.  It was really fun and we produced some fantastic artwork.  We also had a look around  the Lowry Gallery, where we saw things that belonged to L.S.Lowry, like his rent collecting bag and where we were allowed to sit on the floor, in front of our favourite picture, and have a go at copying one of Lowry's pieces of artwork.  What a fantastic day we had!
