Year 2 Rainbow Salads and Pitta Crisps

Date: 15th Dec 2025 @ 1:19pm

In our Design and Technology lessons we have been discussing eating vegetables and minimally processed foods, in order to find out what being 'healthy' means.  We have found out that eating a variety of vegetables provides the body with the nutrients it needs.  And, that by preparing our own pitta crisps it is much better for us than ultra-processed crisps.  The children have been taught new skills in order to safely and responsibly use knives, peelers and graters.  They prepared and made a rainbow salad in a jar and cut up and are soon going to chop up and fry pitta breads for crisps.  The children had a fabulous time making their healthy alternatives and I hope they enjoyed eating them too.
