Y6 29th April 2020

Date: 29th Apr 2020 @ 9:15am

Wednesday 29th April 2020

Good morning Year 6. What a dull Wednesday morning it is! Let’s hope that it clears up a bit so that we can all get outside for a bit later – I like to get some fresh air when I can.

What would I like you to do today?

  1. Get on with / catch up with your 5 day (in the Homework Folder)
  2. Complete the Mathletics tasks on line
  3. MNP – Unit 7: Lesson 3 – Finding percentage change
  4. Complete the Spellodrome tasks on line.
  5. Get on with the space tasks that I have set…you have a craft task and a writing task. You can find both of these in the Homework Folder.
  6. Add a comment in this week’s discussion page (in the Discussion Folder)

Thank you to those of you who are regularly adding images of your work to the homework folders. Please can we have a few more of you doing so? I know that many of you are completing the work in your school exercise book, which is great, but I would like to see what you’re doing if you can get it to me. If you can’t figure out the technology, don’t worry.

Remember that the discussion and homework pages are also the perfect way for you to get in touch with me or to ask me a question.

I am currently in the process of ringing around you all; some of you will have received a phone call already and those who haven’t, I will in the next week or so J

Spellodrome

Ok let’s look at the runners and riders from yesterday!

Angus 1100 (1100), Erin 1250 (400), Connor 600 (600) Elliot 160 (160), Imogen 1290 (10), Max 1500 (600), Rhia 400 (0), James 1580 (1030), Lillie 570 (200), Lexie 600 (300) Thomas 740 (0), Aiden 840 (0) N.b. Monday’s score is in brackets

Welcome to Rhia, Aiden and Thomas who all joined the party yesterday. Big shout out for Imogen who made the biggest gains and generally most of you have improved your score; keep going guys and don’t forget the adage, ‘little and often’.

Mathletics

Ok, I will have to start off with an apology, yesterday’s work wasn’t set for some reason so today’s tasks - ‘factors’, ‘multiples’ and the end of unit ‘test’  - need to be completed by 12:30 Thursday 30th April.

The work set on Monday 27th proved a little challenging for some students and as a consequence of this, I have reset one or two of the tasks for a select few. Please use the help function and make note of the term ‘quotient’ from yesterday’s blog.

Good luck everyone and once again thank you to all those students making a real effort to join in with our online learning.

Thought for the day, ‘What goes up a chimney down but not down a chimney up?’

Answer: Umbrella

Try this on your parents J

Take care and stay safe
