Friday 1st May 2020

Hello Y6…it’s May already! I can’t quite believe it!

We’re going to start with our Friday ‘Shout Outs’ – it’s a bit like our Celebration Assembly but on line J

Firstly, I want to give a huge shout out to all of you who have been uploading your work and writing comments on the School Spider. You really have been staying focused with your learning and I have been so pleased with the overall quality of your work. Please look back through the folders as I do comment on everything that you upload and remember that you can message me on there at any time and I will get back to you.

A big shout out to Angus, Erin, Connor, Elliot, Imogen, Max, Rhia, James, Lillie, Lexie, Jess, Thomas and Aiden who have all generated thousands of points on Spellodrome.

Another shout out to our Mathletics Champions: Laila, Angus, Erin, Connor, Elliot, Imogen, Max, Rhia, James, Lillie, Lexie, Thomas and Aiden. The tasks have been re-set so that those of you who were finding them a bit too challenging, should now be able to get on with them.

Today’s Tasks

  1. Complete the Mathletics and Spellodrome tasks,
  2. Complete your 5 a day.
  3. If you’re accessing MNP, then it’s Unit 7 Percentages, lesson 5.
  4. Complete the Space Craft if you haven’t already. (In the Homework Folder).
  5. Complete the Space Writing task if you haven’t already. . (In the Homework Folder).
  6. Add a comment in this week’s class discussion.  (In the Discussion Folder).
  7. Complete today’s new poetry writing task – in the Homework Folder.
  8. In your exercise books, I’d like you complete a fractions, decimals and percentage comparison grid eg. ½ = 0.5 = 50%. Do this for the most common fractions eg. ½, ¼, 1/5, 1/10, 1/3, 1/8.

If you have kept on top of your tasks (as so many of you are doing), today’s work should not take too long. Remember to just do your best and do what you can.

Have a lovely Friday – even though the weather looks naff again - and have a great weekend.

Take care and miss you all.
