Good Morning Year 5

If you have been anything like my family, you will have gone slightly off routine over the Easter holiday.  Time to get back on it!  I was back in school yesterday and it was good to see Riley and Harrison.

This week, in Mathletics, we are looking at multiplication and division facts.  I want you to complete the two set tasks – the initial assessment and multiplication facts.  To support your times tables, this week, focus on 4s and 8s on Times Tables Rock Stars.

I have changed Spellodrome so you will have another set of Year 5 & 6 National Curriculum words.

This week’s craft project is to design and decorate Maya Jewellery.  The Maya created jewellery such as beaded necklaces, pendants, bracelets, earrings and rings.  They used bone, jaguar teeth ad claws, feathers and various shells.  Where it was available, they used gold, silver, copper, jade and bronze.  Jade was a particularly prized material.  Beads often contained patterns, animals and flowers.

Many of you had an issue with uploading work on School Spider last week.  This has been fixed so please login to upload your Easter projects, and to view this week’s writing activity.

Have a great day.  Remember to take breaks and get some fresh air.
