Science- States of Matter

Date: 20th Jan 2022 @ 4:06pm

In Science today, we were looking at states of matter which are whether something is a solid, a liquid or a gas.

We looked at how some things can change between these states like water.

We saw how an ice cube (water in a solid state) melts and turns into a liquid when it heats up. If you heat it further, it becomes a gas called steam. You can also catch that gas and cool it down to become water as a liquid again.

We went outside to practically show how the particles look in the different states of matter: solids are very close together, liquids have a bit more space between them to move around and gas particles are very far apart!
