Safer Internet Day 2022

Date: 14th Feb 2022 @ 8:07am

This year, Safer Internet Day was celebrated on 8th February.  The theme was ‘All fun and games? Exploring respect and relationships online’.

Each class spent time discussing ideas such as using kind words and actions, talking to adults, taking a moment if emotions are high, respecting people's boundaries and not giving away personal information while online.

A number of activities children completed on the day included:

  • answering questions on showing respect whilst talking online,
  • developing their understanding through a series of different scenarios; describing what they would and would not do under such circumstances,
  • designing their our own E-Safety poster.
  • Showing their understanding by design a character, who would support people being respectful when playing or talking online.

To find out about practical ways in which you can get involved in the campaign, not just on Safer Internet Day but all year around click saferinternet.org.uk which has lots of resources to support you as you support your child to use the internet safely, responsibility and positively.
