Nursery 20.5.2020

Date: 20th May 2020 @ 8:22am

Good morning Nursery children,

I hope that you are all safe and well.

It’s going to be a lovely, sunny day today so make sure that you get out in the fresh air and make the most of it. We are going to have a barbeque later on today. I’m going to make my own burgers for it I think...Yum!

Today I’m posting a maths challenge about number bonds to 10.

First of all, watch this Number Blocks episode all about 10. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b08phr1g/numberblocks-series-2-ten

After that, you need to find 10 of something. It might be 10 leaves from your garden or 10 pebbles. When you have 10, split it up into two groups. This will give you a number bond to 10.

Can you write it in a number sentence?

__ + __ = 10

As an extra activity linked with The Very Hungry Caterpillar, I’ve included a ‘number bonds to 10’ game with a tens frame and fruits from the story.

If the hungry caterpillar eats 10 fruits, how many apples does he eat and how many pears to make 10 fruits altogether?

Have a lovely day and enjoy the sunshine!
