Monday 27th April

Date: 26th Apr 2020 @ 11:30pm

Good Morning Year 5

I hope you have had a good weekend.  I am really optimistic for the coming week.  The sun has shone most of the weekend, we made use of the paddling pool and I managed a couple of runs.  Bring on the week!

I would like you to complete the following tasks:

Maths No Problem Workbook 5B

This week see Maths No Problem up and running online and this is a perfect opportunity to progress your maths skills and develop your knowledge.  We will review the Decimals chapter of Workbook 5B.
Monday 27th April - Lesson 1 - Writing Decimals

Tuesday 28th April - Lesson 2 - Reading and Writing Decimals

Wednesday 29th April - Lesson 3 - Reading and Writing Decimals

Thursday 30th April - Lesson 4 - Comparing Decimals

Friday 1st May - Lesson 5 - Comparing Decimals

Mathletics

This week’s unit of work is Multiply and Divide Mentally.   Monday’s activities are ‘Are You Ready?’ and ‘Estimate Products’.  If you are struggling with any of the questions, add a comment and I will help out.

Spellodrome

The spelling words have been changed this week.  Big shout out to Olivia, Kian and Mia, who achieved the highest scores last week.  Who can beat them this week?

5 a day

I have attached this week's 5 a day for you to complete.

Writing

As always, I will add two pieces of writing this week - one on Tuesday and another on Thursday.  The deadline for both pieces is Monday 4th May.

Class discussion

Would it be good to be famous?  For this, I would like a balanced argument so think of both the positives and negatives. This discussion is open all week so I would love to hear your comments; we had some great thoughts last week.  The deadline is Sunday 3rd May.

Craft project

Art for Mayas was often used to tell stories so it included many people and animals.  Your project this week is to create your unique take on Maya art including repeating patterns and lots of bright colours.  Additional information is on the craft project homework page.  The deadline for this is Sunday 3rd May.

Top Tip – Duolingo have free resources for different languages and I have been working through the German scheme.  I am seeing the benefits and hopefully I will get use of my new found knowledge sooner rather than later.

Many of you are keeping me busy responding to your homework and comments.  Let’s get as many of you responding as possible.

Have a great week.
