How far could germs travel?

Date: 18th Oct 2019 @ 7:50am

As part of our science topic ‘Healthy Me’ we have been investigating germs.  We became scientists for the afternoon and did an experiment to see how far a sneeze might travel if it wasn’t caught in a tissue.  Using water mixed with red food colouring and a spray bottle we performed the same test three times.  We sprayed the coloured water first of all without anything to catch it.  Then we sprayed it using a hand to catch it and lastly we caught the ‘fake’ sneeze with a tissue.  We then measured the distances that the water travelled.  The children were amazed at the results and they all definitely concluded that they should use a tissue or at least their hand to catch a sneeze in the future.
