Courageous Advocates in Year 3
Over the last two weeks, some children in Year 3 have become ‘Courageous Advocates’.
They have worked hard in school, and at home, creating thoughtful insights into important topics; namely Homelessness and The Environment.
Today, they bravely stood in front of the whole school and shared facts and their own thoughts about these two issues.
The children spoke clearly and put their points across very well.
Our courageous advocates thought:
“We really enjoyed standing up in front of the school but we were all a little nervous.’
“We hope that what we said will really change things.”
“There are about 22,000 homeless people in Britain.”
“Polar bears are losing their habitat because the ice caps are melting.”
“We enjoyed listening to what the other courageous advocates said.”
“Some animals have already become extinct.”
“I would love to do Courageous Advocates again and choose another subject to talk about.”
Other topics covered this week were racism, global warming, adoption, education and extinction.
I am looking forward to seeing our other young advocates share their thoughts about other significant matters next half term.
Well done Courageous Advocates!
